I can remember it like it was only yesterday, an innocent of only 18 years of age, sitting in the comfortable chair of a poolside bar, watching the shimmering light on the otherwise abandoned pool. I paint a romantic scene but truth be told the pool was in a Greater London hotel and it was a rainy Sunday afternoon.
Perhaps the fake tropical environment filled me with a sense of whimsical adventure, or maybe the good Lady Fate herself intervened, either way I hankered for something a little more interesting than a bottle of beer.

I picked up the cocktail menu, and having no other basis to make my decision, picked the one with the most amusing name. That drink set me on a path, one blurry foot in front of the other, until I sit here now and add my own few meagre stitches to the grand tapestry that is the history of cocktails.

The drinks gathered in this book are by no means the definitive list of cocktails, there are far too many cocktails in the world for one book to do justice, they are however a collection of some of my personal favourites, classics and noteworthy concoctions, and a perfect place to start your very own spiritual journey.

Within the book you’ll find –
•    Cocktail making techniques and terminology
•    A guide to glassware
•    The most classic cocktail recipes
•    My own cocktail creations
•    A taste of the history behind cocktails

With easy to follow recipes and a dip into the history of cocktails, it’s a welcome addition to the bookshelf of the beginner or the more seasoned aficionado in the cocktail world.

Our readers say -
"Informative and a fun read. Great book for exploring the world of cocktails."
"Trust the Fox."
"The impassioned interest of the author does show throughout. Well worth a look."
"Whilst the writer might not be a serious drinker, he clearly takes his drinking seriously !"
