The predecessor of Suntory, the Torii Shoten Store opened it’s doors in 1899 as a result of the ambition of Shinjiro Torii to create original Japanese Spirits. Shinjiro created wine, whisky and brandy, and launched the first Suntory gin Hermes in 1936.

​Sky Wave gin has been created by lifetime gin aficionados Rachel and Andy, taking inspiration (or ginspiration) from a visit to the sea on their wedding anniversary. Being Oxfordshire born and bred the gin naturally reflects the picturesque and diverse county, with the distillery itself overlooking the Oxfordshire countryside in Bucknell. 
It took over of 6 months of hard work, more than 40 recipe variations, and over 300 expert testers to get to the flavour profile they wanted.

​When I hear Melton Mowbray, the first thing that comes to my mind is pork pies, but then again I am always thinking about food. One of the few things that could push the thought of food out of my mind is gin, and as luck would have it there’s now a new craft gin coming from the heart of Melton Mowbray, which neatly leads us in to talking about Brentingby Gin (with not a pork pie in sight).

Manchester Signature Gin

Manchester has produced the likes of Emmeline Pankhurst, Alan Turing,  Sir Ian Mckellen and of course Oasis. The city has now lent its name to the ever growing gin market with Manchester Gin, they produce a number of different gins but today we'll be looking at their "Signature" gin, which won a gold medal at the IWSC in 2017.

Biggar Gin

Biggar Gin is a family run business founded by brothers Euan and Stuart McVicar, based at the foot of the Tinto Hills just outside of the Scottish town of Biggar, from which they take the name of their gin.
 
Biggar is a small batch gin, but despite the small batch nature they have a bigger mentality, if you excuse the pun. The spirits are created by a combining traditional distillation methods with innovation and a strong sense of place.

Firkin - Try Me Naked Gin

In 2015 FIRKIN gin was founded by Gleann Mόr Spirits, who are more readily associated with single malt scotch whiskies. 

The name Firkin itself comes from the small cask used to hold foods or liquids, and the makers took inspiration from this due to their small batch production.
