Since the day the first humanoid emerged bleary-eyed from their cave and spotted a fur clad animal hopping along the horizon and thought - “The delicate interplay of spots and stripes would really compliment my protruding forehead” we have been on a quest for bespoke tailoring. Skip forward a few millennia and we’ve moved forward from paleo-chic and into a digital age of bespoke garments.
Whilst the tape measure and scissors of a true tailor have yet to be beat, there are some very good online tailors out there, some we’ve have shared with you already and some I’m sure we are yet to discover. Today however I’m here to wax lyrical about Tailor Store.
A Swedish company founded in 2003, Tailor Store Sweden was acknowledged as the "best e-commerce company in Scandinavia in 2006". Now making a move in to the UK market they have popped up on my gentlemanly radar.

Let us start with the website, the interface is crisp and simple, and very similar to other online tailoring websites. At the time of writing they offered 288 fabrics, including quality wools, cottons and linens, over a range of products including suits, shirts, chinos and polos.

Considering a man can never have enough shirts I thought I’d dip my toe in the water and give them a go. The custom design interface is easy and clear to use, with the usual range of options such as fit, fabric, cuff and collar style and customization options of contrasting fabrics for collars, cuffs and lining.
Considering that summer is supposedly round the corner, I thought I’d have a go at a short sleeved shirt, but soon changed my mind when I saw they also did roll up sleeve shirts. This is an option I haven’t seen on another site as of yet and makes a nice addition I thought. Fabric-wise I kept it simple and stylish with light blue cotton with fine white dot pattern, a style that is looking to be popular this summer. Since this is going to be a roll up sleeve I opted for a contrasting cuff and internal placket colour in a navy blue.

When it comes to sizing you can input your height and weight and it will calculate your measurements. The results were reasonably accurate but I’d still recommend taking the time and measuring yourself to get the perfect fit.

My shirt upon arrival
My details inputted and the price paid, which is competitive with other tailors out there, I was left to play the waiting game for delivery. The turnaround for the shirt was very quick, with me receiving it within 10 working days. The shirt was nicely packaged and in perfect condition upon arrival and the fabric feels good to wear. The fit was spot on and probably one of the best fitting shirts I’ve had made so far, so hats off to the guys at Tailor Store.

I’d recommend giving Tailor Store a go next time you’re in the market for a sharp shirt or another bespoke garment, I shall certainly be returning there to expand my already creaking wardrobe.
